Talk-n-Walk: Greening Your Existing House
When: 4:00 – 6 P.M. Thursday October 15, 2009
Where: Large Conference Room, Habitat for Humanity of Wake County ReStore, 2420 Raleigh Boulevard, Raleigh, NC 27604-2235.
Presenters: Have you planned a green renovation of your own home yet? We have an exceptional panel of speakers to take you through the important considerations in green remodeling. Our speakers include:
· Joel Lubell who set up and runs the deconstruction program for Habitat for Humanity of Wake County.
· Bill Klotz, Director of Building Science at Sustainable Building Solutions and home energy specialist, will address energy audits and energy efficiency remodeling.
· Julia Johnson, Solar Sales and Client Services with Southern Energy Management will review current federal and state tax incentives and rebates for home energy efficiency improvements.
· Brad Wood, energy efficiency Program Manager with Progress Energy, will present information about utility incentives and their role in promoting energy efficiency.
· Glenn Parks, Associate A.I.A. member and home owner will present a case study of his own residential green remodel.
There will be a Question and Answer session at the end of presentations followed by a tour of the Habitat Warehouse.
